The Donbass direction will determine who will dominate in the coming weeks – Zelensky

Ukraine still needs air defense systems, because although Russia is running out of high-precision modern missiles, they still have Soviet reserves, which are more dangerous because they are less accurate.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his evening address on June 14.
The President commented on the attacks by enemy missiles on Lviv and Ternopil regions, as a result of which there are casualties.
– We keep telling our partners that Ukraine needs modern anti-missile weapons. Our country does not have it at a sufficient level yet, but it is in our country and right now – the greatest need for such weapons in Europe. Procrastination with its provision cannot be justified. I will constantly emphasize this when talking to our partners. We made the first requests for anti-missile systems long before the full-scale invasion, – said the President.
Volodymyr Zelensky noted that despite the fact that modern missiles in Russia are becoming less and less with each passing day of war, Ukraine’s need for air defense and missile defense systems remains.
– Because Russia still has enough Soviet types of missiles, which are even more dangerous. They are many times less accurate, and therefore, many times more threatening civilian facilities and ordinary residential buildings, – said the Ukrainian president.
He also instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to draw attention to the fact that the media and social networks reported on the lack of personal protective equipment among Ukrainian defenders.
– The reports I receive are significantly different from what is discussed by society. And I expect inspections of logistics in the army – inspections of what is supplied and how personal protective equipment is distributed. Today, everyone in combat zones must have everything they need to protect themselves. The state provides such supply, – the president explained.
He also stated that no drastic changes have taken place in Donbass over the past 24 hours.
– The fiercest fighting in Severodonetsk and in all cities and communities nearby – as before. The losses, unfortunately, are painful. But you have to hold on. This is our state. It is vital to stay there, in Donbass. The more losses the enemy suffers there, the less strength they will have to continue the aggression. Therefore, the Donbass direction is key to determining who will dominate in the coming weeks, – said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the same time, he mentioned the Kharkiv direction, where the occupying forces of the Russian Federation are trying to strengthen their positions.
– Fighting in this direction continues, and we still have to fight, fight hard for complete security for Kharkiv and the region, – said the President.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi added that Ukrainian defenders continue to put pressure on the occupiers in the south of the country. According to him, the key goal in this direction is the release of Kherson.
The President of Ukraine also stated that he had signed a decree awarding 63 servicemen who were awarded for bravery and efficiency in defending the state. According to him, the total number of winners is already 18,453 people.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for 110 days.
