Another turning point occurred: Zhdanov told when the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would begin
Successful HIMARS strikes on Russian warehouses are another turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
This was stated by military expert Oleg Zhdanov on his YouTube channel.
He was asked if the use of American HIMARS to strike Russian ammunition depots was a turning point in the war. He was also asked clarifying questions about how critical these strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are for the Russian army, how long it will take to restore supplies, and whether this can be considered the beginning of a strategic turning point in the war.
In response, Zhdanov reminded that as of July 5, 19 warehouses with ammunition of the Russian Armed Forces in the occupied territories of Ukraine had already been destroyed.
Regarding the question of a turning point in the war, the military expert answered in the affirmative.
– In general, yes. It can be considered not the beginning of a turning point, because the beginning of a turning point in the war was when we defeated the Russian troops near Kiev, and they were forced to retreat quickly to concentrate their efforts in one direction. This is the beginning of a root fracture. The Russians understood that there will be no blitzkrieg, there will be a difficult war, and in order to achieve success, it is necessary to focus on one direction, he explained.
In his turn, Oleg Zhdanov noted that the successful attacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the occupiers’ warehouses using HIMARS are “another stage of the fundamental fracture.”
– With the increase in the number of long-range MLRS, we will increase our firepower and move towards parity of fire capabilities between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. When there is parity, then the break will go in our direction. This will be the end of the fundamental fracture during this war. After achieving fire superiority, it will be possible to talk about countermeasures, – said the military expert.
According to him, this turning point in the war is “very important” and “very effective”.
– In two weeks of use – almost 20 warehouses with ammunition. Damages are incalculable, because some warehouses have been accumulating for years (we are talking about those warehouses that were located in the occupied territories – Kryshtalevy, Horlivka, Donetsk). Equipment, weapons, military equipment and, of course, ammunition were accumulated there for years. What they (Russians, – Ed.) carried in echelons. And now all this has to be carried on wheels, Zhdanov said.
He added that the Russian artillery will use up the military ammunition they are carrying with them in the next one or two days, and then they will have to wait for it to be delivered. But, as Zhdanov notes, the question of where these munitions will be brought remains an open question, because the Armed Forces of Ukraine know how to meet munitions on the roads.
– They will try to bring ammunition, and we will destroy the convoys. We know how to destroy convoys, remember the first half of March, how much Russian equipment was destroyed in similar convoys, – summed up the military expert.
Previously, Zhdanov explained that at this stage of the war, Ukraine’s reserve forces are undergoing training abroad, so that later they will launch a counteroffensive with new forces.
