The USA announced a new military aid package for Ukraine

The United States is preparing new military aid packages for Ukraine, the announcement of which should be expected in the coming days.

On August 31, John Kirby, the coordinator of the US National Security Council for strategic communications, stated this during a press briefing.

– We… allocated more than $13 billion in aid to ensure the security of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and we will continue to do so. And in the coming days, future security assistance will be announced, – he told reporters.

John Kirby did not give any details about the next package of aid to Kyiv from Washington.

Last Wednesday, on Independence Day, US President Joe Biden announced the provision of $2.98 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

So far, the US has provided aid to Ukraine in the amount of about $13 billion, if we count from the moment of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukrainian territories. In addition, since the beginning of the war, the United States has provided $7 billion in grants for direct budget support and more than $1.5 billion in humanitarian aid for Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees, John Kirby said in a CNN commentary.

It was previously reported that the White House plans to announce a long-term military mission to support Ukraine and appoint a commander of this mission who will take responsibility for the delivery of aid and training of the Ukrainian military.
