The de-occupation of Melitopol is the key to the de-occupation of the entire South of Ukraine – the mayor of the city
The de-occupation of the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, is the key to the liberation of the entire South of Ukraine from the Russian invaders. Such a statement was made by Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov during the briefing.
He noted that Melitopol is historically a logistics hub of Southern Ukraine, because two highways of state importance pass through the city, and there is a large railway junction here.
— We clearly understand that the de-occupation of Melitopol is the key to the de-occupation of the entire South of our country. It is simply impossible without the deoccupation of Melitopol, – he emphasized.
He also said that the number of occupiers on the territory of Melitopol varies from day to day, but in general, “thousands of vehicles and tens of thousands of soldiers of the enemy army are based in the Melitopol district.”
— Over the last week, their concentration has increased in the Melitopol and Vasyliv districts. Today, the representation of Russians in our territory is quite large, – he said.
As for the collaborators, in Melitopol, the law enforcement agencies, according to the statements of the Ukrainian authorities, initiated more than 15 criminal cases against the collaborators, and suspicions were handed to them in absentia.
On September 7, Fedorov reported that the headquarters of United Russia, where preparations for the pseudo-referendum were taking place, had been blown up in the occupied Melitopol.
