Russian missile strikes: Volyn still lacks power to restore electricity

Volyn region is still waiting for connection to the unified power grid of Ukraine after the massive shelling of Ukraine on November 23.

As ICTV Fakty journalist Kateryna Kurbanova reports from the scene, the connection of consumers to electricity supply in the region remains at a very low level.

There is not enough capacity to provide light to the population.

Electricity is supplied to critical infrastructure facilities – hospitals, boiler houses, water pumping stations.

However, power engineers are still trying to turn on the light to people in turn where possible.

It should be noted that on November 23, after the massive shelling of Ukraine, Volyn region was completely de-energized, although none of the power facilities was damaged.

The next day, electricity supply was restored in the region only by 9%.

According to the head of the regional military administration Yuriy Pogulyayko, the problem of the region is an acute shortage of power due to the lack of sufficient generation from nuclear power plants.

With the need for 350 MW, Volyn has only 60 MW.

The day before, most settlements in the region were partially or completely de-energized.

In the regional center, in particular, traffic lights did not work, many units of electric transport did not work.

In some areas of Lutsk there was no Internet.
