Zhdanov named the date when Russia will be ready to attack Donetsk region
Russia will be ready to launch an offensive in the Donetsk direction, starting from the first days of December.
This was stated by a military expert, reserve colonel Oleg Zhdanov on UkrlifeTV.
According to him, part of the forces were released in Russia after the retreat from the right-bank part of the Kherson region, which were transferred to the occupied part of the Donetsk region. In addition, part of the Russian forces is transferred to the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, the expert said.
– Somewhere before December 1, Russia will most likely finish the main measures of formation and additional staffing and, probably, offensive attempts will be made, – said Zhdanov.
The military expert doubts that the occupiers will be able to extend their offensive attempts to Luhansk or Kharkiv regions.
According to Zhdanov, several factors indicate such an attack by Russian forces. Among them, first of all, the ambitions of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for whom it is important to have at least some success on the battlefield. Secondly, the ambitions of the head of the “Wagner” PMC Yevhen Prigozhin, who wants to prove within the Russian Federation that his mercenaries fight better than the regular Russian army, and thirdly, the economic factor, because water is supplied to Donetsk, which has been occupied since 2014, through Sloviansk .
– That is why they are trying to find some weak point in our defense in the Bakhmut or Vugledar area. They need a breakthrough in order to wedge in further and develop offensive success, – he said.
It is noteworthy that another military expert, Serhiу Grabski, stated that Russia cannot withstand the burden and pressure of the imposed sanctions, and therefore uses very outdated equipment and weapons in a full-scale war against Ukraine. So, according to the expert, a turning point in the war is coming due to the decline of the Russian economy.
