They are checking for signs of the “Russian world”: SBU conducts searches in Mukachevo Diocese of the UOC (MP)

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine are conducting counterintelligence (security) measures on the territory of one of the monasteries of the Mukachevo Diocese of the UOC (MP) in Transcarpathia.
The agency emphasizes that in view of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the risks of crimes against the security of citizens, state sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine are increasing.
Law enforcement officers are inspecting the territory and premises of the monastery to identify prohibited items, as well as checking persons on the territory of the monastery for their involvement in illegal activities to the detriment of the state sovereignty of Ukraine.
Such activities take place within the framework of the current legislation and are carried out for:
- verification of data on intentions to use the diocese as a center of the “Russian world”;
- preventing the use of the UOC premises for hiding citizens of the aggressor country, storing prohibited items, etc;
- protection of the population from provocations and terrorist acts.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine found a large number of anti-Ukrainian materials during searches in the Pochayiv Theological Seminary and Ivano-Frankivsk Diocese of the UOC (MP).
Law enforcement officers found literature denying the existence of the Ukrainian people, its language, as well as the very right of Ukraine to statehood.
