Situation on the border with Belarus is under control – State Border Guard Service
The situation on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border has not changed and is fully controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andriy Demchenko during the telethon, there are no actions on the part of enemy troops.
– The situation remains under full control. If we talk, in fact, about the border line, about the nearest border, we do not note any changes in the nature of the actions of the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Those units that were previously on the border with Ukraine remain in the same number, and the nature of their actions is unchanged, – he said.
The creation of a powerful group that would be ready to invade the territory of Ukraine is not yet visible on the territory of Belarus, the SBGSU spokesman added.
Demchenko said that Ukraine continues to create engineering barriers both along the border with Belarus and in the border area. They will allow Ukrainian defenders to hide from possible shelling, as well as to conduct combat operations.
– Fortification is taking place from Volyn to Chernihiv along the entire length of the border with the Republic of Belarus, – he summed up.
The Main Intelligence Directorate reported that there are no signs that Belarus is preparing a new attack on Ukraine.
The American Institute for the Study of War believes that Russia is deploying troops in Belarus not with the aim of a new attack on Ukraine from that side. ISW analysts believe that Russia uses Belarus to train its military. In addition, there is an informational component of this operation to put pressure on Ukraine and the West – the Ukrainian military and political leadership is forced to keep a certain part of the troops and not send them to reinforce the counter-offensive operation.
