The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, starting from January 10, has not reported in its daily reports on the situation in Belarus and in the North along the border with Belarus.

The fact that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time did not add to its report the already usual reports that “no signs of the formation of offensive groups of the enemy were found in Belarus and in the North of Ukraine”, did not go unnoticed by the experts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The experts were interested in what the deviation from the already established scheme of the General Staff’s messages may indicate.

Watching now

In the end, ISW put forward two versions of why the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine changed its daily reports.

American experts believe that either the Ukrainian military saw that Russian forces were forming strike groups in the North of Ukraine, or the situation near the borders might not have changed, so the General Staff of the Armed Forces did not add it to the daily report.

The Institute of War Studies notes that they will continue to monitor the messages from the General Staff to find out the real reason for the deviation from the usual scheme of informing about the events in Ukraine.

The full-scale war in Ukraine continues for the 322nd day.
