23 Ukrainians, who were considered dead, are alive and in Russian captivity.

Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, received confirmation of this information during a meeting with the Russian Ombudsman Tetyana Moskalkova in Turkey.

– For the first time, the Russian side came with proposals that we previously discussed. There is no breakthrough, but at least technical work has begun. We exchange lists and information.

We work separately on missing persons. There are already cases when the Russian side has confirmed that 23 of our boys, who were considered dead, are alive. This is a huge positive, – Dmytro Lubinets said on the air of the nationwide telethon.

The ombudsmen also discussed the issue of civilians who have actually been in captivity in the Russian Federation since 2014, as well as “prisoners of the Kremlin” (158 citizens of Ukraine, most of whom are representatives of the Crimean Tatar people).

According to Dmytro Lubinets, this is probably the first time that the Russian side has agreed to accept the lists and, after processing them, provide information about where these people are and what their condition is.

In addition, the parties were able to discuss various options for the return of prisoners.

The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for the 324th day.
