The Air Force told whether the February 24 invasion scenario could be repeated

Joint flight exercises with Russia have started in Belarus. Spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat said whether we can expect a repeat of February 24, when the Russians flew from the north to Kyiv and landed their troops.
Yuriy Ihnat said this on the air of the national telethon.
According to the spokesman, today the landing of Russian troops near Kyiv is simply an unrealistic scenario.
– We were ready for the attack then. But did we expect such a bold offensive from Russia then? Everyone thought that at most they would attack Donbas, perhaps the land corridor of Crimea and so on. But here the voracious dictator needs the whole Ukraine, and for this he needs the capital, – Yuriy Ihnat emphasized.
According to him, there are at least four airports around Kyiv that Russians could use for landing.
– These are dozens of Il-76 – huge transport planes, hundreds of helicopters with troops. They were already in place. There were already battles for military airfields, in particular in Vasylkiv. Then the occupiers failed to do it (capture the airfields – Ed.), and they will not succeed now.
It is obvious that they will not be able to fly to the capital and land troops from IL-76. They will not be able to fly to the border. You can sleep peacefully here, – the Air Force spokesman reassured.
He stressed that in any case, the occupiers will receive a worthy response, the main thing is that Ukraine should continue to receive assistance from the West, especially air defense systems.
Yuriy Ihnat noted that now Ukraine really needs anti-missile systems, because there is a threat that Russia may get ballistic missiles.
– Therefore, we must strengthen ourselves with the systems promised to us by Germany, the USA, Italy, France. Therefore, we expect Patriot, SAMP-T in sufficient quantities to close as many critical infrastructure facilities as possible,” said Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Serhiy Popko said that Ukraine is preparing for a possible new wave of offensive by Russian occupation troops.
Intelligence data indicate that Russia is preparing to conduct another wave of mobilization to gain manpower for a new offensive. In parallel, 150 thousand previously mobilized occupants are currently undergoing training at training grounds.
