It’s too early to talk about a complete turnaround in the war, but 2023 will be a year of victory – DIU

It is too early to talk about a complete turnaround in the full-scale war provoked by Russia. However, the situation at the front will change, and 2023 will be the year of Ukraine’s victory.
This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi in an interview with Ukrinform.
In this way, he commented on the forecasts of a major offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a possible final turning point in the war in the spring or summer.
– It is too early to talk about a complete turnaround in the war today, but there are signs that the situation will change. 2023 is the year of our victory. Our victory is already there, even in the fact that we have been defending our independence for almost a year in a war with a nuclear power that has greater mobilization and economic potential,” Skibitsky said.
He added that the entire civilized world sees this as a strategic defeat for Russia.
Skibitsky clarified that this is not only about Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield in 2023, but also in other areas.
– “There has never been such a powerful coalition of states that supports Ukraine in the entire modern history of our country. This is already a victory,” the DIU representative explained.
Skibitsky clarified that in the next two months there will be active fighting in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. And the situation on other frontline areas will depend on the outcome of the fighting in Donbas.
According to him, there may be distracting maneuvers or diversionary strikes by the enemy. At the same time, Ukraine has the necessary information to analyze and predict possible Russian actions.
As for the temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian troops are preparing for defense there. The Russian army command has already created a defense group on the peninsula.
