We do not exclude any scenarios. The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration talked about the situation in Bakhmut
Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that any scenarios are not excluded in the situation around Bakhmut.
He informed Radio Svoboda about this.
– We do not exclude any scenarios. But we act exclusively vertically. All military personnel are on the lines of protection. And all the maximum measures are being taken to prevent this from happening, – said Kyrylenko, answering the question about whether he is preparing for a possible seizure of Bakhmut by the occupiers.
He noted that currently the city is holding on. At the same time, the life and health of our defenders is one of the main priorities.
The head of the Regional Military Administration added that everything possible is being done to destroy the enemy as much as possible so that his offensive zeal is extinguished.
Regarding the plans of the Russian Federation to seize the Donetsk region by March, Kyrylenko said that the occupiers should not be underestimated.
– The enemy tried to reach the border of Luhansk region in May and seize the entire Donetsk region by July at the latest. Bakhmut (the task was set) to capture within the deadline (and after that they were already quite blurred) is September 2022. I gave the facts – he added.
Kyrylenko emphasized that he expects to “concentrate efforts as much as possible” on defensive fortifications, on carrying out “clear, coordinated, coordinated action” with the military command in order to protect the region.
– And I will say that the plans that were for July, September… The larger territory of Donetsk region was occupied. Taking into account the de-occupation of the Lyman and Sviatohirsk communities, at the moment under the control of Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities, the Armed Forces, in the first place, almost 52% of Donetsk region. Therefore, we will stand as long as necessary on our land, – he emphasized.
Earlier, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using all possibilities to defend Bakhmut.
