Three critical components: Sunak named the priorities in arming Ukraine

Support for Ukraine cannot be postponed, because the situation at the front is developing very quickly.
The head of the British government said this during a meeting with Ukrainian journalists. Exclusive details of this conversation at 10 Downing Street – from Elena Zorina, special correspondent of the program Facts of the week.
Rishi Sunak also calls on Western partners to strengthen support for Ukraine.
According to him, the needs of Ukraine must be adjusted depending on the situation at the front.
– The priority is air defense, armored vehicles and artillery. Specifically, these are three absolutely critical components, – he noted.
Therefore, Great Britain is now focusing on providing long-range weapons. The prime minister did not specify what kind of weapon it is. But he called on other Western countries to act quickly.
– We must increase and speed up our support to Ukraine. Because I believe if we do that, we can provide your country with the means to provide a decisive advantage on the battlefield much faster, – Sunak said.
As for the issue of the provision of fighter jets, he has not announced specific terms yet. Currently, the country has begun training Ukrainian pilots to fly Western fighter jets.
– This is what we are working on now. And remember, these aren’t just airplanes. This is one of the elements of power. But there are still many things we are doing to support the protection of airspace in Ukraine, – said Sunak. – If there are countries that have the opportunity to provide Ukraine with planes that can be used right now, we will help them do it.
According to the British Prime Minister, Great Britain will continue to support Ukraine. And this is not only a short-term issue.
– We have a plan to continue supporting the security of Ukraine not only immediately, but also in the long term, – he said.
In addition, the prime minister did not rule out that he will visit Kyiv again soon.
Earlier, the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, said that Britain could become the first country to provide Western fighter jets to Ukraine.
