The mayor of the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, confirmed the information that the residents of the city, who remained there, began to be recruited into Wagner’s PMС brigades to be sent to storm Bakhmut.
– Yes, it’s true… At the end of the week, indeed, in closed groups of Melitopol citizens who remained in the temporarily occupied city, they began to send out a letter and recruit to the Wagner’s PMC. Of course, no one agrees, but the offers they make are 200,000 rubles, they are ready to pay those who are ready to go to Bakhmut for a month, – he said on the air of the telethon.
At the same time, Fedorov is sure that they will not recruit a single brigade, just as it happened with the recruitment of a volunteer battalion from the local population.
British intelligence reported today that recently the owner of Wagner’s PMС Yevgeny Prigozhin probably lost access to recruitment in Russian prisons due to disputes with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, so it is possible that he is now trying to recruit mercenaries among free Russian citizens.
