The situation near Avdiivka is tactically similar to the situation near Bakhmut – British intelligence

In the last three weeks, the Russians have been gradually advancing around the town of Avdiivka, north of Donetsk. A situation similar to the defense of Bakhmut is developing around the city.
The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain writes about it.
It is noted that the 1st army corps of the so-called “DPR” is mainly involved in hostilities on the part of the Russian Federation near Avdiivka; for the locals, this is a well-known location.
– Avdiivka has been on the front line since 2014, the city is now largely destroyed. The territory of the Avdiiv coke plant will most likely become a particularly convenient place for conducting defense as the battle progresses, – the report says.
British intelligence adds that tactically, the situation near Avdiivka is similar to the situation in the larger city of Bakhmut, located to the north.
– The Ukrainian military continues the organized defense of the city, but their supply routes are under increasing threat due to the fact that Russian troops are trying to surround them, – the department notes.
Earlier, the Defense Forces reported that the Russian Federation wanted to capture Avdiivka in order to start assault operations in the Vugledar area.
