While we wait, the best pilots die. The Air Force of Ukraine called for the provision of modern Western aircraft

The Air Force Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, General Serhii Golubtsov, said that Ukraine urgently needs modern Western aircraft.
He said this in an interview with The Times.
-My best pilots are dying while we wait for the F-16, – he said.
The general expressed confidence that Ukrainian pilots can learn to fly and control the weapons systems on the F-16 in less than six months.
According to him, modern fighters are needed to more effectively cover advancing convoys of armored vehicles supplied by partners from NATO countries.
In addition, he noted that fighter jets will replace air defense systems, because the territory of Ukraine “is so huge that it is impossible to deploy as many ground-based air defense systems as are necessary for its effective cover.”
Earlier, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Western allies are discussing the transfer of modern fighter jets to Ukraine.
