The Russian Federation wants to recapture Kupyansk – British intelligence

Russian troops are trying to recapture Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, as this city is an important logistics hub.

Such an assumption was made in the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, after analyzing the fierce battles that have been going on since March 2023, in the section of the Svatove – Kreminna front line in the north of the Luhansk region.

According to information available to British intelligence, Russia has partially regained control over the direct approaches to Kreminna.

In places, according to the intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, the Russian Federation advanced several kilometers.

– The Russian command is probably trying to expand the security zone to the west of the defensive lines they have prepared along the highlands and integrate the Oskil River as a natural obstacle, trying to recapture Kupyansk, – British intelligence officers believe.

In the northeast, Russia’s operational intentions obviously involve being on the defensive.

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain does not rule out: the Russian command fears that Ukraine may try to carry out a major offensive in this sector.
