The Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, once again visited the hottest spots in the Bakhmut sector.

It is noted that in the area where Ukrainian defenders are performing combat missions, he assessed the situation and took a number of measures to resolve problematic issues that impede the effective performance of combat missions.
The commander also made a number of decisions aimed at strengthening our deterrence capabilities and defeating the enemy.
– The most intense phase of the battle for Bakhmut is underway. The situation is consistently difficult. The enemy is suffering significant losses in human resources, weapons and military equipment, but continues to conduct offensive actions. Our defenders are heroically holding back the enemy’s invasion in extremely difficult conditions and leaving the enemy no chance to realize their plans,” he said.
Syrsky added that the defense of Bakhmut is driven by military necessity and is based on the competent use of the city’s defensive capabilities, built fortifications and equipped firing positions.
– The courage and heroism of our soldiers, combined with the skillful use of weapons and maneuvering of forces and means, made it possible to defend the city beyond all deadlines and forecasts. We are considering all possible scenarios and will act adequately to the current situation,” he emphasized.
Earlier, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty said that the main prerequisite for slowing down the offensive of the Russian occupation forces in the Bakhmut direction is competent defense and competent defense operation.
