Ukrainian Armed Forces are already using JDAM bombs against the occupiers – Ihnat

The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that Ukrainian defenders are already using JDAM guided bombs. They are used to strike important targets of the Russian occupiers.
This was stated by Yuriy Ihnat, spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the air of the United News telethon.
– “We also use JDAM bombs. These are western-style bombs that our aviation uses to successfully strike important targets. These bombs are slightly less powerful but extremely accurate,” Ihnat said.
According to him, Ukraine needs more of these bombs. They will ensure significant success at the front by striking the occupiers.
JDAM is a set of equipment based on GPS technology. Thanks to this, free-fall bombs can be converted into all-weather adjusted munitions.
The kit includes an inertial navigation system and a GPS receiver that increase the accuracy of strikes. They are accompanied by small wings that are attached in the middle of the bomb and a tail that is responsible for course correction during the flight to the target.
In early March, the commander of the US Air Force in Europe, James Hucker, said that Ukraine was already using JDAM smart bombs on the battlefield. He noted that they could pose real problems for the Russian army.
