Bakhmut remains the main target of Russian attacks – Cherevaty about the situation in the city

Serhii Cherevaty, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Russian troops continue to attack Bakhmut in Donetsk region. He also confirmed that Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of Wagner’s PMC, planted the flag on the city’s building, which was destroyed during the fighting a long time ago.
He said this on the air of the telethon.
– Prigozhin probably goes to Bakhmut, because it is not safe for him in St. Petersburg. There, you see, restaurants are exploding… And flags are being placed on buildings that have long since physically ceased to exist. That is, this building, which was simply destroyed, – he said.
According to Cherevaty, Bakhmut remains the main target of Russian attacks.
Only in the past day, there were 32 enemy attacks and 26 skirmishes both in Bakhmut and in its surroundings.
In total, the occupiers shelled the positions of the Ukrainian military 238 times with barrel and rocket artillery.
During the fighting, 91 occupiers were killed, and another 119 were injured. In addition, the Defense Forces knocked out a Russian tank, multiple rocket launchers and destroyed three ammunition depots.
Earlier, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the occupying forces are weakening in the Bakhmut direction, and therefore they are trying to cover up their failures with fakes about the alleged capture of Bakhmut.
