In Bakhmut, the enemy switched to Syrian scorched earth tactics – Syrskyi
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops are destroying buildings and positions with airstrikes and artillery fire, but the defense continues and the situation is under control.
This was announced by the commander of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, who visited the hottest areas of the front the day before.
– Our brave soldiers exhausted the Wagnerites by their actions, so the enemy is forced to involve special forces and assault units in the battles for Bakhmut. The fighting is fierce on both sides. The enemy switched to the so-called Syrian scorched earth tactics. The enemy destroys buildings and positions with air strikes and artillery fire. Bakhmut’s defense continues. The situation is difficult, but under control, – the general stressed.
On the front line, Sirskyі listened to the commanders of military units and groups regarding the progress of the defense, made operational decisions and set tasks on the spot, and also honored the best fighters with awards, valuable gifts and cash prizes.
