Wagner PMC mercenaries forcibly deported children from Bakhmut – Prosecutor General’s Office

Prosecutors have recorded new crimes by members of the Russian Wagner PMC. The occupiers forcibly deported children from Bakhmut in Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

It is noted that during the monitoring of the media and pro-Russian Telegram channels, a video was found in which Wagnerites, led by their leader, illegally deported two families of local residents with two minor children from Bakhmut on April 16.

In the second story, a PMC representative talks to one of these families and a child in a temporary accommodation center.

In addition, it was established that on April 17-18, armed Wagnerians took two more families of Bakhmut residents with small children to an unknown destination from this settlement.

– “In total, three boys and one girl were illegally deported,” the prosecutors added.

“Priority investigative actions are currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the offenses, search for Ukrainian children and return them home. A pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated.

Earlier, Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that Russia is holding more than 20 thousand Ukrainian civilians in captivity.
