British intelligence explained why the occupiers force Ukrainians to accept Russian passports
The occupiers are forcing the population of the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories to accept Russian passports. This is done to present the intrusion as “successful”.
This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
It is noted that residents of the Kherson region were warned that those who do not agree to a Russian passport by June 1, 2023, will be “deported” and their property will be confiscated.
Russia is using its passports as a tool to “Russify” occupied territories, such as Donetsk and Luhansk until a full-scale invasion in 2022.
– Russia is likely to accelerate the integration of the occupied territories of Ukraine into the bureaucratic system of the Russian Federation in order to present the invasion as a success, especially on the eve of the presidential elections in 2024, – added in British intelligence.
Earlier, the Center for National Resistance reported that the Russians are forcing residents of the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region to get Russian passports, giving them a choice – to get housing or not.
