In some settlements on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, Russian invaders are conducting raids and detaining local residents.

This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar.

According to her, the enemy is trying to create reserves from local residents of the TOT in order to urgently replenish the personnel of the advanced units of its troops, which suffer heavy losses in manpower every day.

– During the raids, all detainees are checked for loyalty to the occupation regime, and men who are eligible for military service are arrested, mostly on false pretences, the statement said.

It is noted that those arrested in this way are usually sent to specially equipped field camps, which already contain criminals brought from Russian prisons who have agreed to participate in the war.

Currently, several such camps have been set up near the settlements of Rohove and Mozhnikiivka in Luhansk region, where batches of recruited prisoners are delivered under convoy from Russia. Local men who were detained for minor offences and did not agree to support the occupiers are also held together with them.

By the end of May, the number of personnel in the camps is expected to increase with the arrival of two more batches of prisoners from Russia, convicted mainly of murder with particular cruelty.

– Currently, there are more than 800 people in these camps, who are undergoing intensive combat training, which is scheduled to be completed within one month. After the prisoners have completed the combat training course, they will sign contracts that provide for mandatory participation in hostilities in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine,” the deputy minister added.

Earlier, the National Resistance Centre reported that panic is growing among collaborators in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions amid the upcoming counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces, and many of them have already left for Russia.
