Attempts to freeze the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine are erroneous and should be rejected – Sunak
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that attempts to freeze the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine at the current stage are “absolutely wrong” and should be rejected.
He made the announcement in response to former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn, who called for a ceasefire.
-The Prime Minister is right that a ceasefire is not peace, but any peace process must start with a ceasefire, otherwise this war will continue and get worse, – Corbyn said.
At the same time, Sunak said that he could not agree with this. He noted that the ceasefire “is not a fair and lasting peace for Ukraine”, because the Russian Federation committed an illegal and unprovoked invasion.
– Russia has committed terrible war crimes, so the correct and only answer to this is Russia’s withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine. And all the plans, which are disguised as peaceful and which are actually attempts to simply freeze the conflict where it is, are absolutely wrong and should be rejected, – emphasized the British Prime Minister.
He also emphasized that other countries have agreed to the principle of “just and lasting peace”, which is based on the UN charter, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that London will start training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets already this summer.
