Why does the Russian Federation use Iskanders for strikes on Kyiv – Ignat’s explanation

Russia uses Iskander for attacks on Kyiv and the region, since enemy artillery does not reach the capital, but from Klintsy, Bryansk region, from where seven Iskander-M and three Iskander-K were launched on the night of June 1, some 300 km away, and the reaction time is a matter of minutes.
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the telethon.
– Why does the enemy use operational-tactical missile complexes? Because the artillery does not reach, and that there was a minimum of time to react. Because if it flies from the Caspian Sea or the Black Sea, then there is about an hour to react, go to shelter, etc. And here we are talking about a few minutes. Therefore, the enemy wants to be caught off guard, – he explained.
According to him, the danger of these missiles – both ballistic and cruise – is that the distance is short.
– This is the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, it is approximately the Klintsiv district… The distance to Kyiv is short (340 km)… That is why the air alert was not so long-lasting until the moment of the first air defense operation. Yes, unfortunately, there are casualties, even on Children’s Day, a child died. But the occupiers will pay for everything they did on our land. It’s obvious, – Ignat added.
During the missile attack on Kyiv on the night of June 1, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 10 out of 10 missiles that the Russians fired from the operational-tactical missile complex Iskander from the territory of the Bryansk region.
According to the latest data, among them are seven Iskander-M and three Iskander-K.
