Russia may also resort to massive attacks on infrastructure this winter – Podolyak
The Russian Federation has a limited number of tools to influence the course of the war, including shelling of civilians and attacks on infrastructure. Therefore, it is possible that the aggressor country may use them next winter.
This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office.
Answering the question whether Ukrainians should expect a new hard winter – whether Russia will try to launch massive attacks, including on infrastructure, Podolyak said that it should be understood that the great war is ongoing. At the same time, Ukraine is now in different conditions than before the war began.
– And until the war is over, we need to prepare for everything, including understanding that Russia does not have many tools to influence the course of the war. It has only terrorist tools, one of which is the use of remnants of cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, hypersonics, drones to attack civilians and critical infrastructure, energy infrastructure,” he said.
The Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President noted that it is necessary to invest a lot of money in completing transformers, as well as replacing and repairing distribution networks.
At the same time, society must understand that Russia will continue to use the same terrorist tools until the war is over.
– Again, we must not forget that the cost of this war is enormous. Either we lose, and then we do not exist as a state. Yes, it will be called Ukraine, but it will be a purely puppet state, a non-existent state. Either we win, no matter what, we will win this war,” he added.
Earlier, Podoliak said that any calls by the Russian side for alleged peace talks with Ukraine, which sound against the backdrop of constant missile attacks by Russian troops, are a cynical and hypocritical propaganda bluff. Peace can only be achieved by ordering the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.
