About 250 firefights and the liberation of 17 square kilometers: Malyar on the situation at the front in a week

Over the past week, the Defense Forces liberated 17 square kilometers of territory in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, and 130 square kilometers have been liberated since the start of the offensive in the south.

This was reported by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar, summarizing the results of the last seven days.

According to her, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions in the Tauride sector 148 times and fired 3,861 times during this period.

– If we add up the number of enemy attacks in the east (6,457) and south, we will get more than 10 thousand attacks per week. This is actually around the clock and every minute. The missile and artillery units of the Tauride Defense Forces carried out 8,783 firing missions during the week,” emphasized Malyar.

Speaking about the situation in the east, she clarified that both defensive and offensive actions were conducted there, and the Defense Forces were tactically successful.

The deputy defense minister said that the enemy tried to actively advance at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions – about 250 combat engagements in a week, but failed to push our troops from their positions.

– At the same time, our troops in the east launched counteroffensives in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Yahydne, Klishchiyivka and Kurdyumivka late last week. In each of the areas, they have made advances of 1 to 2 kilometers. Now the troops are consolidating their positions and continue to destroy the enemy,” she added.

As for the enemy’s losses, they are eight times higher. Also, as noted by Malyar, our aviation and artillery destroyed 17 air defense systems, 11 control centers, seven ammunition depots, as well as hundreds of pieces of enemy equipment, including tanks, helicopters and artillery systems, 48 of 51 Shahed-131/136 attack drones.
