Ukrainian Armed Forces make progress on two flanks in Bakhmut – British intelligence

Ukrainian defense forces have stepped up attacks near Bakhmut, Donetsk region, as part of a broad counteroffensive, UK Ministry of Defense intelligence said in a morning report on June 26.
– “During the multi-brigade operation, Ukrainian troops made progress on both the northern and southern flanks of the city,” the report says.
They note that there is currently little evidence “that Russia has any significant operational reserves of ground forces that could be used to strengthen counteraction to the numerous threats it now faces in sectors remote from each other.”
The intelligence agency reminded that there is a distance of more than 200 kilometers from Bakhmut to the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, which complicates the situation for Russian troops.

Earlier, analysts of the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated units of the 57th Motorized Rifle Brigade (5th Combined Arms Army, Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation) near Bakhmut and destroyed a Russian foothold in an unspecified area on the western bank of the Siversky Donets River, which runs southwest of Bakhmut between Mayorsk and Kurdyumivka.
