The enemy is concentrating on the ports. Gumenyuk explained the nuances of air defense systems deployment

Ukraine is deploying and improving air defense systems around the ports, because in recent days the Russians have been targeting that very place with missiles and drones.
Natalіya Gumenyuk, head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, told about this on the air of the telethon.
That night, the Russian military hit the Danube ports with attack drones.
According to Natalіya Gumenyuk, port infrastructure was built in peacetime, Ukraine did not plan to go to war at that time, so there was no need to move these strategic objects far beyond the borders of large cities.
– If we talk about Odesa, then the port is actually located in the very heart of Odesa. And the geographical feature is such that everything that will fly to the port and does not hit it will continue to fly, in particular, to the historical part of the city, – said the head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces.
This factor is taken into account when deploying our air defense.
When preparing for missile strikes, the enemy knows and understands that we cannot shoot down all missiles, which is why the Russians use those weapons that “can count on the result.”

Natalіya Gumenyuk emphasized that Ukraine really needs modern air defense complexes that can protect our infrastructure as much as possible, because these are the interests of the whole world.
The head of the United Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces noted that, for example, Patriot air defense systems are capable of responding to both ballistic and supersonic missiles.
Tonight, the Russians attacked the port infrastructure in Odesa – in the area of the Danube River with Shahed drones. Three drones were shot down, but there are hits. Six people were injured, a hangar with grain was destroyed.
