Russians may have hidden blown-up ammunition depots in Crimea from HIMARS – expert

The Russians probably tried to hide ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied Crimea from HIMARS strikes. We are talking about the ammunition depots near Veseloye and Oktyabrskoye, which were recently blown up.
This was stated by the editor-in-chief of Defense Express, Oleg Katkov, for Liga.net.
– “Given the explosions and the evacuation zone, these warehouses are quite large. Most likely, these are the warehouses that the Rashists pulled away when they began to destroy them at ranges of up to 80 km using HIMARS. Some of them were apparently dragged as far as Crimea,” he said.
He noted that these facilities are not the only large warehouse in Crimea. The occupiers have a system where ammunition is transported from large warehouses to small ones, and from there to the battlefield.
According to him, the bombing of the warehouses is part of a picture of attacks on Crimea, including the attacks on the Crimean and Chongar bridges.
– There are different means of influence. Depots – to reduce the amount of ammunition, the burden on logistics. A strike on the Crimean bridge is a burden on logistics. This is always a set of actions. It is impossible to hit only the warehouses. It’s always about a set of actions,” Katkov explains.
The expert is convinced that Ukraine is implementing the strategy announced a year ago by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. That the war should be moved deeper into the occupied and purely Russian territories.
He adds that the same applies to strikes on Moscow and Rublevka, stressing that as soon as the war is on the occupiers’ doorstep, the situation may change.
On 22 July, in the village of Oktiabrske, north of Simferopol, the Elevatorna railway station caught fire after a powerful “cotton”.
