Ukraine and Croatia have reached an agreement on the use of Croatian ports for the export of Ukrainian grain.

According to the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba agreed on this with his Croatian counterpart Gordon Girlych-Radman during his visit to Kyiv.

– We agreed on the possibility of using Croatian ports on the Danube and the Adriatic Sea to transport Ukrainian grain. Now we will work to build the most efficient routes to these ports and make the most of this opportunity,” Kuleba said.

The Minister thanked Croatia for its assistance and noted that every contribution to unblocking exports and every open door is a real, effective contribution to the world’s food security.

The parties also discussed Zagreb’s military assistance to Kyiv. Kuleba noted that weapons were the main topic of the talks.

– We discussed further support for Croatia… For obvious reasons, I will not share details. I will only say that there are specific agreements that will be implemented soon. I would also like to note that the assistance provided by Croatia is very substantial, if we consider its share in the total military budget of this country,” Kuleba said.

The Foreign Ministry’s press service reported that the Ukrainian and Croatian sides also discussed preparations for the International Donor Conference on demining in Ukraine, which will take place in Zagreb in October. Kuleba expressed gratitude to Croatia for taking on the role of one of the global leaders in demining in Ukraine.

As a reminder, on 17 July, the Russian dictator’s secretary, Dmitry Peskov, said that Moscow would not extend the grain deal.

After withdrawing from the grain deal, Russia intensified its attacks in southern Ukraine, in particular on the port infrastructure of Odesa region.
