Modified version of Leopard: Sweden may transfer Stridsvagn 122 tanks to Ukraine

Sweden is considering sending its Stridsvagn 122 tanks to Ukraine.
This was announced by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonson in a comment to the local newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.
– The transfer to Ukraine of Stridsvagn 122 – the Swedish version of the German Leopard 2 – may be relevant in the future. That is, currently preparations are not being made for the supply of these tanks from Sweden, but it is not excluded that this may happen later, – he said.
What is known about Stridsvagn 122 tanks
Stridsvagn 122 is the main battle tank of Sweden and a licensed version of the German Leopard 2. The Swedish army has about 120 units of this equipment in service.
The Strv 122 is equipped with a 120 mm Rheinmetall L44 smoothbore gun. It can fire armor-piercing subcaliber projectiles and universal cumulative.
Also, the tank has reinforced turret armor and is equipped with a fire control system from the Leopard 2A5, and in addition, it has the frontal armor of the Leopard 2A6EX body.
The French GALAX smoke grenade launch system is installed on the tank, which enables the firing of high-explosive and special ammunition.
