Russia is trying to restrain the advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with counterattacks, but they are ill-conceived and unsuccessful – British intelligence
In order to deter the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ offensive, Russian troops are conducting localized counterattacks. Thus, over the past week, the Russians have tried to strike at the Orikhiv and Bakhmut directions.
This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that in both directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks and held the recently liberated territories.
British intelligence indicates that comments published by the Russian Military Society show deep disappointment among those who took part in these counterattacks, especially near Bakhmut.
The reports refer to “ill-conceived” offensives, lack of artillery support, and high casualties.
– Over the past nine months, Russian troops in Ukraine have proven that they are capable of conducting sustained defensive operations. However, they continue to demonstrate only minimal offensive capability,” the British report says.
Earlier it became known that the first American Abrams tanks arrived in Ukraine.
