Night attack of the Russian Federation: air defense forces destroyed 34 out of 44 attack drones
On the night of Thursday, September 28, Russian troops once again attacked the territory of Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. In total, the enemy launched 44 drones.
According to the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian military managed to destroy 34 enemy drones.
The occupiers launched the Shahed-136/131 UAV from the southeastern direction: the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region (RF) and Cape Chauda in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
– The forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the anti-aircraft defense of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 34 Shaheds! – is emphasized in the message.
Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups participated in repelling the attack.
And during the past day, September 27, six Russian reconnaissance drones of operational-tactical level (Orlan, Zala, Superkam) were also destroyed.
During the current day and the past day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine flew more than 30 sorties for fighter cover and fire damage to the forces of the Russian Federation.
Earlier today, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the Russian Federation used 39 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs at night, of which 31 drones were destroyed. Later, the Air Force clarified the data.
As Nataliya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, reported on the air of the telethon, the enemy directed several groups of attack drones from different directions.
Anti-aircraft defense worked along the entire southern direction. We are talking, in particular, about Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
– The enemy directed attack drones in various directions, including to the central regions, – Humenyuk said, adding that the attack was massive.
The spokeswoman noted that “the work of the Air Defense Forces was quite effective.”
