It hinders Russia’s counter-battery efforts: Ukrainian Armed Forces tell about the creation of a long-range “fire fist”
The introduction of Western missile and artillery systems created a long-range fire fist that makes it impossible for the Russian army to effectively conduct counter-battery operations. This initiative has allowed for efforts to capture and neutralize the enemy before artillery attacks begin.
This was reported by Brigadier General Serhiy Baranov, Head of the Main Directorate of Missile Forces and Artillery and Unmanned Systems of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as quoted by Military Media Center.
Baranov emphasized that the key aspects of modern artillery are maximum automation, the use of advanced digital developments for artillery reconnaissance and automated fire control systems and anti-personnel measures.
He added that up to 90% of the damage to enemy military and technical facilities today is caused by missile forces and artillery.
– “We do not wait for the enemy artillery to open fire, but detect it in advance and destroy it before the enemy is ready to strike at our positions. We do this with great care to avoid harm to our troops, civilians and infrastructure. The enemy does not get our truck, but we do,” he said in a statement.
Baranov emphasized that thanks to Western high-precision missile and artillery systems, a long-range fire fist was combined and created, which hits so powerfully that the enemy is no longer able to conduct effective counter-battery combat.
– We succeed due to the training of our personnel, the use of new software products, and the introduction of an automated fire control system. We are doing everything we can to force the enemy to end this war on our terms and to make them no longer want to fight against Ukraine,” added the brigadier general.
He also assured that Ukrainians are mastering Western artillery systems many times faster than NATO standards.
To recap, Russia has deployed the 25th Army in the east, consisting of 12,000 troops, which was planned to be withdrawn from the reserve in winter.
