130-140 billion hryvnias per month go to the sphere of security and defense – Shmyhal

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the priority for Ukraine remains the sphere of security and defense, all funds from the state budget are directed to it.
He said this at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
– Approximately 100 billion per month businesses and people pay the state in the form of taxes. We are collecting about UAH 40 billion more from foreign and domestic borrowing through bonds and state loans. And, accordingly, all 130-140 billion per month go to the sphere of security and defense. Literally, every hryvnia collected from business works for our defense and future victory, – the official said.
The minister noted that the rest of the funds to cover social, humanitarian and daily expenses are raised through help from partners and grants.
Shmyhal also reported that due to the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, Ukraine lost 3.5 million jobs.
According to him, their creation will be one of the important moments that will bring back our people from abroad.
– Human capital is what creates GDP. Without it, it is impossible to even dream of recovery and development, – Shmyhal added.
Earlier, Belgian Prime Minister Alexandеr de Croo announced that his country will create a fund for Ukraine in the amount of €1.7 billion from taxes on keeping frozen assets of the Russian Federation in the country.
