On the night of Monday, October 30, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have confirmed the successful destruction of a strategic object of the Russian air defense system.
– “On the night of October 30, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully hit a strategic air defense facility on the west coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
On October 25, the Ukrainian military destroyed the S-400 air defense system near occupied Luhansk.
Earlier, the attack on Russian positions in Crimea was reported by the ASTRA Telegram channel, citing its own sources. The channel positions itself as “a publication of independent Russian journalists who have been censored or persecuted in the Russian Federation”.
It is alleged that a rocket attack was launched at the location of the Russian air defense missile regiment near the village of Olenivka. It happened around 3:00 am on October 30.
As a result, 17 Russian servicemen were wounded, ASTRA claims. In addition, “5 vehicles were damaged, one of them is beyond repair.”

Earlier, there were reports of explosions on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea and the closure of the illegally built Kerch Bridge.
What the Armed Forces say
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, called on the air of the United News telethon to wait for official reports on the new “cotton” in Crimea.
– As for the so-called Crimean bridge, Russia blocks it whenever it sees any danger… As for the military use, we should still wait for official reports on this topic,” he said.
Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, noted during the telethon that “a very powerful maneuver of forces and means” is taking place in the occupied Crimea.
She reminded that Russia tried to create a “military hub” on the peninsula by deploying its soldiers and equipment there.
However, the occupiers are now realizing that the “cotton season” in Crimea continues and the peninsula is within reach of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Therefore, they are trying to defend themselves with maneuvers.
– Including redistributing forces, because they are partially supplied to the Left Bank, the mainland (of Ukraine – Ed.), where there is already a need. And partly they are trying to protect what is on the peninsula itself,” said Humeniuk.
She added that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are carrying out comprehensive work in Crimea, the results of which will be visible later.
– “This work is complex, large, large-scale. There are many of them (the occupiers – Ed.). We need a lot of effort and a little more time to wait for the results to be summarized,” emphasized Humeniuk.
Not the first “cotton” near Olenivka
This is not the first time explosions have been heard near the village of Olenivka. On August 23, a Russian S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed near this village on Cape Tarkhankut.
According to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the installation itself, the missiles installed on it, and Russian personnel were eliminated.
On the night of August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, Ukrainian special forces landed in Crimea and planted the Ukrainian national flag. This happened near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak.
Four speedboats were damaged and at least 30 Russians were killed.
