We need tools that can destroy Shahed automatically – Ihnat
Ukraine needs modern air defense systems capable of automatically destroying enemy drones.
– And it is even better to have enough electronic warfare systems that will shoot down UAVs without firing a single shot,” said Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.
He also said that more Patriot, SAMP/T IRIS-T and NASAMS air defense systems are needed.
– It is necessary to focus not only on the systems I have mentioned, but also on the Air Force and the Ground Forces air defense systems, namely the British Terrahawk Paladin. This is what is needed to destroy Shahed. There are more of them, Russia has established production, so we need exactly the kind of means that can automatically destroy these targets with 100% success without human intervention. This has already been demonstrated by the German Gepard, which is very good at destroying not only Shahed but also missiles,” he explained.
The full-scale war in Ukraine has been going on for 621 days.
