Replacing Zaluzhnyi with Syrskyi will not affect aid from the US – the Pentagon

Oleksandr Syrskyi is an experienced and successful commander, so the United States will effectively cooperate with the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Assistant Pentagon chief Celeste Wallander said.
According to her, the United States respects the decision of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and will work with whomever the democratically elected government appoints to the position of head of state.
– We will work effectively with General Syrskyi, we are already doing it – Volker emphasized.
The release of Zaluzhnyi and the support of Ukraine by the USA
The press secretary of the Pentagon, Patrick Ryder, assured that the changes in the leadership of the Armed Forces will in no way affect the further support of Ukraine.
“I can tell you that the only thing that will not change is our continued support for Ukraine and its efforts to defend against Russian aggression,”- he said during the briefing.
According to him, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin has not yet spoken with the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
At the same time, Ryder emphasized that the US considers personnel issues to be an internal matter of Ukraine.
The day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and appointed Oleksandr Syrskyi in his place.
