Danilov explains why China will never supply weapons to Russia
Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, is confident that China will never side with Russia and supply it with weapons.
– To get into huge trouble, to be subject to certain restrictions? Of course, China will not do this, it does not need it at all. It is Russia that has a great desire to involve China and other countries to which it is trying to spread its influence,” he explained in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the Russian Federation has turned out to be a weak and incapacitated country, which is more like a fake entity that no one wants to deal with.
– Therefore, I don’t see that China has a great desire to provide weapons to Russia today. The neutral position that it takes in this case is absolutely reasonable and balanced. Of course, we would very much like to have help on our side, but we need to understand the complexity of historical processes,” the NSDC Secretary emphasized.
Commenting on Beijing’s “peace plan,” Danilov agrees that the term “conflict” used in it does not really fit the current processes, but “each country has its own vision.”
Recently, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said that Beijing’s position on Russia’s war in Ukraine is “consistent and clear,” and its essence is to convince of the need for peace and to facilitate negotiations.
According to him, the countries concerned should promote a ceasefire to stop the war.
