70 combat vehicles and ammunition for Challenger 2: Britain announced a new aid package to Ukraine
Great Britain announced the transfer of another 70 combat vehicles to Ukraine as part of another aid package.
This was announced on Wednesday, July 12 at the residence of Prime Minister Sunak.
– Great Britain will transfer to Ukraine 70 more combat vehicles, as well as vehicles for logistical support. In particular, we are talking about CVR(T) reconnaissance combat vehicles, – the statement says.
It is also noted that the transfer of equipment, among other things, is necessary for the evacuation of the wounded, damaged armored vehicles, as well as for the delivery of ammunition to the positions.
– In addition, as part of this package, thousands of additional shells for Challenger 2 tanks will be immediately transferred to Ukraine, – informs the office of the British Prime Minister.
The Office of the President of Ukraine reported that within the framework of the NATO summit, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Rishi Sunak.
The leaders discussed the defense needs of Ukraine, further cooperation on expanding the capabilities of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield, in particular thanks to long-range weapons and, in the future, modern Western aviation.
Zelenskyy thanked Sunak and the United Kingdom for supporting Ukraine’s accession to NATO and participating in providing our country with effective security guarantees for the period before membership in the military bloc.
It will be recalled that the Ukrainian president in Vilnius said that Ukraine is present at the NATO summit for three things : security guarantees, an invitation to the North Atlantic bloc, and weapons.
