More Than 16,000 Troops, 582 Tanks: Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Update On Russia’s Losses

Since the Ukraine war began, Russia has lost approximately 16,600 troops and 582 tanks. The figures are courtesy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Russia’s official lossess

  • personnel – 16,600;

  • armored fighting vehicles – 1,664;
  • artillery systems – 294;
  • multiple launch rocket systems – 93;
  • air defense systems – 52;
  • aircraft – 121;
  • helicopters – 127;
  • motor vehicles – 1,144;
  • ships/boats – 7;
  • fuel and oil tankers – 73;
  • tactical unmanned aircraft – 56;
  • special purpose equipment – 21;
  • tactical ballistic missile launchers – 4.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine pointed out that the data were subject to change due to high-intensity combat making them difficult to estimate.

Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in the morning of February 24. Urban and rural residents woke up to heavy explosions.
