Ukraine asks the UN and the EU to organize an international monitoring mission at the Kakhovka HPP

Ukraine appeals to the UN, the European Union and other organizations to organize an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal believes that international specialists along with Ukrainian personnel should arrive at the station immediately.
– Yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyу announced that we are observing the preparation of Russian troops to commit another terrorist attack on the territory of the Kherson region. It is about the fact that the Russians mined the dam and units of the Kakhovka HPP, – he said.
Shmyhal warned that a terrorist attack by the Russian army could lead to many thousands of victims and the flooding of dozens of settlements, including the city of Kherson. Therefore, Ukraine appeals to all organizations to organize an international monitoring mission.
At the same time, he called on people from the occupied Kherson region and other regions to immediately leave for the liberated territories of Ukraine. The government, local authorities and international humanitarian organizations are ready to help, the Prime Minister assured.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted that the Russian occupiers mined the Kakhovka HPP back in April, and now they are planting explosives near the locks and pillars.
The scouts learned that two military tented trucks without drivers, which are fully loaded with boxes of explosives, have been installed on the dam of the Kakhovka HPP.
