The Japanese government sets a price ceiling for Russian oil – the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As part of the sanctions policy against the Russian Federation, the Japanese government, in accordance with the position of the G7 countries, sets price limits for Russian petroleum products.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country.

It is noted that price limits for Russian oil products transported by sea are set at $100 and $45 per barrel, depending on their category.

According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the measures will take effect on February 6.

The restrictions announced by the Japanese side correspond to similar measures announced by the European Union. The Council approved the establishment of two limit prices for petroleum products originating in or exported from the Russian Federation.

In addition, official representatives of the G7 countries plan to review the level of price restrictions on Russian oil in March.
