The terrorist attack in Olenivka is an attempt to exert political pressure on Ukraine – Zhdanov
The main version of the killing of Ukrainian prisoners in the Olenivka concentration camp is an attempt to psychologically pressure Ukraine through a demonstration of omnipotence, when they can do anything with the prisoners.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov told about this on Radio NV.
The presenter asked the expert why, in his opinion, the Russians attacked their own concentration camp in Olenivka, as a result of which about 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war could have died there.
— This is another way of political pressure on the leadership of Ukraine, the destruction of our prisoners and the reluctance to exchange them on the terms that the Russian Federation is proposing to us today. There may be several options, the second could be to hide the traces of torture and execution of our prisoners. We do not know for sure whether they were alive at the time of the explosion or whether they had already been tortured and their bodies were simply put there, Zhdanov said.
According to the expert, there are many versions of the reasons for this crime on the part of the Russian Federation, but the main one is “the version of coercion, a demonstration to Ukraine that they can do whatever they want with our prisoners” until Kyiv agrees to the Kremlin’s political conditions.
Oleg Zhdanov believes that the Russian Federation is trying to spread fear and panic among the population of Ukraine with its criminal actions.
— This is one of the main tasks of the information and psychological special operations that Russia is conducting against us. I think that all these today’s throws are an informational and psychological special operation to destabilize the internal situation in the country, so that the population starts putting pressure on the leadership, let’s give peace at any price, – he explained.
The military expert also says that given that the Azov Regiment fighters could be in the concentration camp, Russia could solve the issue of the execution of the Azov citizens, which it had previously talked about publicly.
— They consider them nationalists, those who committed great crimes, so yes, it is quite possible. And at the same time, they built such an information pretext and threw it into the information space for the fact that it seems that Ukraine itself is destroying its prisoners, – Oleg Zhdanov explained.
We will remind, after the Russian shelling of the colony in Olenivka, in Donetsk region, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General, about 40 Ukrainian prisoners of war died. At the same time, 130 people were injured.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the artillery strike on the colony was carried out by the armed forces of the Russian Federation in order to hide the torture of prisoners and executions, and to blame the whole of Ukraine.
At the same time, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense confirmed that it was the Russian Federation that carried out the explosions in the colony, and emphasized that this was nothing more than an undeniable act of terrorism by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, Ukrainian intelligence managed to establish that our prisoners of war were killed by mercenaries from Wagner’s PMK (League) on the personal command of the PMK’s owner, Yevhen Prigozhin.
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the organization and execution of the terrorist attack were not coordinated with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
