Another exchange of prisoners took place: 20 more Ukrainian heroes were released

Another exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia took place on Thursday, October 13.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, reported that 20 people were freed from captivity.

– These are 20 stories of Ukrainian heroes, 14 – soldiers of the Armed Forces, four soldiers of the territorial defense, one national guard and a soldier of the Navy, – Yermak wrote in the Telegram channel.

He noted that among those released from captivity are people who were held by the Russians in Olenivka, in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Currently, those released from captivity are undergoing a medical examination.

Recently, the deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Malyar, reported that as of October 2, 24 prisoner exchanges had been carried out from Russian captivity, during which 808 people were returned home.

On September 22, a large exchange of prisoners took place, during which Ukraine was able to return 215 military prisoners, including 124 officers, who had been held hostage by Russia since the end of May.

Among those released are soldiers of the Azov Regiment, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, and marines. 200 defenders were exchanged for the traitor Viktor Medvedchuk, who had already given all the necessary evidence to the investigation. And for the most famous Ukrainian heroes, Ukraine gave 55 Russian prisoners.
