De-occupation of the right bank at the final stage: Deputy on liberation of Kherson region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting the final stage of de-occupation of the right bank of Kherson region. The day before, they rejected and destroyed a large number of Russian invaders.

This was stated today at a briefing by deputy of the Kherson Regional Council Serhiy Khlan.

– Yesterday, our Armed Forces under a fierce onslaught threw out and destroyed a very large part of the Russians who tried to cross and ran like rats to the left bank of the Dnipro.

They ran through the pontoons that were built under Antonivskyi bridge, tried to evacuate their equipment. Many vehicles were abandoned, many of them drowned. Now we are at the final stage of de-occupation of the right coast of Kherson region, Kherson city,” he stressed.

The deputy clarified that there is still a lot of work to be done to clean the city and demine it. In addition, it will be necessary to restore the infrastructure damaged by Russian troops. Thus, the occupants, while retreating, blew up a thermal power plant, a distribution station of the regional power company, a TV center in Kherson.

Khlan noted that some of the Nazis were unable to cross the Dnipro and escape from Kherson. Therefore, the invaders dispersed in the city and the right bank of the region. There is information that they are looking for a way to cross the river to the left bank.

According to the deputy, now there is no data on how many of Putin’s soldiers could be left. The official information is to be announced by the command of the Armed Forces.

– They change their clothes, throw away their military uniforms, try to hide in civilian clothes. They will mostly prepare some provocations in the city, and this work is still ahead, – the deputy believes.

He added that the Russian troops, who managed to cross to the left bank of the Dnipro, have entrenched themselves in the fortifications that were built earlier. Mobilized from the Russian Federation, who were previously based in the occupied Henichesk, were also transferred there.

– All night until 6:00 in the morning there were very powerful explosions just near Antonivskyi bridge. Kherson residents say that the ground was shaking. This is just the destruction of the racists who tried to cross, many drowned there, – said Khlan.

He confirmed that after the withdrawal of the main forces, the Russian occupiers blew up the spans of the Antonivskyi Bridge with the barges that were under it. This made any movement on the bridge impossible.

Similarly, the Rashists blew up other bridges on the right bank when they left the territory of Ukraine under the onslaught of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Khlan, there are unconfirmed reports that the occupants allegedly blew up the road at the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, but there is no official data now.

The deputy explained that when the Armed Forces of Ukraine take full control of the right-bank part of Kherson region, they will be able to “quite substantially keep under fire control” the entire left-bank part of the region.

– And experts note that almost up to the Crimean isthmus it is possible to control absolutely all roads and movements of the enemy, – Khlan said.

He expressed hope that with the help of intelligence and artillery in the future it will be possible to prevent the shelling of Kherson and Mykolaiv.

Hlan also informed that there is a difficult humanitarian situation in Kherson, which the occupants have artificially brought to a critical point. In particular, it will soon be a week since there is no electricity in the city, there is no communication, and the mobile Internet is very weak. The situation with bread and fuel is also difficult.

The deputy advised the residents of the city to stay at home while the Ukrainian military carry out the mopping up. After the mopping up it will be possible to say that Kherson is under full control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
