The Russian Federation is modernizing missiles to bypass Ukrainian air defense – an expert

Russia is improving missiles with special traps to bypass Ukrainian air defense.
Aviation expert Valery Romanenko said this in a comment.
According to him, in one of the Kh-101s, with which the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine on February 10, our military discovered a block with traps.
At the moment of attack, such a missile fixes the radar station at our anti-aircraft missile systems, and this unit automatically shoots false targets – a dipole, and creates obstacles for our radars.
– The missile has an alarm, if it has caught the signal of the irradiating radiator – it fires 2-3 traps that form a cloud. And behind this curtain, the rocket is not visible for several minutes.
Then it flew and flew out of the radar’s observation area – the air defense lost it, the next radar finds it again, – said Romanenko.
The expert noted that this modernization really made it difficult to track the missiles, and suggested that the information about false targets during the February 16 shelling was precisely the result of the operation of the trap units.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the enemy began using the updated missiles from the end of 2022.
We will remind, during another massive attack on Ukraine, on January 26, Russia again used Kh-55 cruise missiles with a simulator of a nuclear warhead.
For the first time, it became known about the use of the Kh-55 missile with a mock-up of a nuclear warhead by the Russian military on November 17. Then the enemy attacked Kyiv in the same way.
